We're thrilled to share some insights from Christian, one of our founders, about his recent trip to visit us in Jakarta with his family.
“During our visit, my partner Marie learned about the plastic pollution problem and how it continues to affect local communities. Freya helped collect plastic while the local collectors showed Arthur how to catch crabs. One of the highlights was when a former plastic collector proudly took Arthur under his wing, sharing how his work collecting plastic allowed him to open his own small shop.
After our collection, we headed to the sorting station where the collected plastic is sorted before being washed and repurposed. We helped sort the plastic, though we were not used to the heat, so we drank quite a few cold soft drinks than our hardworking colleagues, who found it amusing. I do not think they’ve ever seen a 13-year-old boy drink so much soda.
It fills me with pride to see how far we’ve come with ReSea. And it made my family proud to see how proud I was. I hope even more people will join us on our fantastic ReSea journey! We’re already a big family, but we need to grow even more."
